ozone-free low-pressure lamp
The spectrum of ozone-free low-pressure lamps reduces itself to the range of 254nm. For this purpose, special quartz glass cuts off wave lengths shorter than 254nm.
Ozone-free low-pressure lamps are suitable for disinfection and for applications to eliminate residual ozone. If the lamps are doted, the power density will increase and become suitable for warm-water and special applications.
ozone-generating low-pressure lamp
Additionally to its range of 254nm, the spectrum of the ozone-forming low-pressure lamp has a range of 185nm. The ranges are at a ratio of 5:1, depending on the quartz material also 4:1. Due to the 185nm line, ozone is generated in the ambient air of the lamp and hydroxyl radicals are formed in the water.
Ozone-forming low-pressure lamps are suitable for TOC degradation in the water. They are not permitted for fresh-water disinfection. If the lamps are doted, the power density will increase and become suitable for warm-water and special applications.
The spectrum of the medium-pressure lamps distinguishes itself by its wide and powerful bandwidth. For their operation, medium-pressure lamps require high electrical performance, but they are continuously adjustable.
Medium-pressure lamps are well suited for UV systems of small-size design and they are independent of the temperature of the medium to be treated, but their service life is shorter than that of low-pressure lamps.
